I have been "down for the count" the past few weeks with Bronchitis and while the hacking cough and congestion is pretty much gone, I am still dealing with total exhaustion. So, what should have been a pretty quick painting took me most of the day because i kept falling asleep!! LOL
Started with my trio of circles the dabbed paint here there & everywhere. While it was still wet, I sprinkled on Kosher Salt and set it aside to dry. I must say, the salt "bloomed" beautifully, leaving behind oodles of tiny frosty looking flowers in my background. Now on to painting the baubles - which I can't find in my bg because as most of you know, my vision is way skewed so I picked 3 areas close to where I want my ornaments and start painting circular shapes. I am not sure what white gouache is but I don't have it . . . Hopefully the China white watercolor I substituted will work okay. I drew the ornament caps and the strings with a black sharpie. Today's video artist suggested white gel pen to decorate the baubles. The only thing I can get mine to write on is my hand - I get nothing on paper so back to my China White WC and a No. 4 long round brush to add some designs and finished with a stamped sentiment.

Oh girl sorry hear you have not been feeling well. Your painting today is amazing!!!! Like the lavender pink hues. Your white paint worked really well. You definitely created the contrast and highlights. Another beauty in the gallery. TFS

Beautiful colors and you did get beautiful blooms from your salt. I haven't tried this yet, but will definitely be giving it a try tomorrow evening. Your ornaments look like they ar frosted clear glass with that beautiful color showing through.

First, I hope you feel better! So sorry that you have been sick. Ugh. One thing about this challenge it was easy to take a nap while the background dried! I love your salt blooms. You created beautiful ornaments. I tried a gel pen and some of my lines are gel pen but I went over a lot with my white watercolor paint because my gel pen is lousy too! I love the color you used! Rest well and recover!

I hope you are increasingly feeling better each day Linda. and holy wow I am totally impressed you did get this done around all that. white gouache is not as transparent type of watercolor is my understanding. ( I only have a tube of white) I love the patterns you drew on your ornaments too
